Because you love them you let them

What has happened to our attention? Who is stealing it in broad daylight? Can we do something about it?

Well if you live in the 2K’s you know it’s been a very long journey of eyeball and attention grabbing which got us to here today.

Our attention has somehow become the currency of this day and age, hence the attention economy name. So, what do we do with all these things and apps trying to steal our valuable easily distracted attention?

We guard it and manage it.

Here is a quick deep dive into what I mean before you get distracted. You need to focus on your people first, or the people in your life apps and other things later.

Close, very close family members: No pass required, they have access to you whenever they feel like it.

Family members & relatives: By appointment with favorability over others.

Close friends: Depending on the number these also have special privileges given they know and respect your work and life nature.

Friends and acquaintances: By appointment or messages only.

General public and time bandits: They don’t exist, only out of courtesy you might reply.

Work related: Only during working hours or total catastrophes.

Special access: This is reserved for the very important people in your life or society, or even business opportunities.

What you need to do right now for this to work is to:

Identify each and everyone that you come across in life and place them in the appropriate group so you don’t have to wonder later on and get distracted.

Now that you have your people in order you can work on your other time and attention grabbers like apps and activities.

Take care.
